Prompted by the ongoing periodic changes to guidance as to infection control etc, and more recently by CQC’s publication of its statutory guidance on its website in May 2022, at a stroke converting it from the fixed document of 2015 to expectations liable to unannounced ‘updating’ (where there has not always been any change in the regulations), the Alerts and Updates service, previously a free service, was upgraded to a monthly provision, and from September 2023 to a WEEKLY edition, with a modest annual fee to cover the increased costs.

As we now see the dramatic sea change in CQC inspection methodology, it is increasingly important for providers, registered managers and others in the compliance ‘loop’ to have up to date guidance as well as information of general interest at the heart of a challenged industry. Preparation for the changes to come will not be possible overnight.
